NFM’s innovative grid vest system

3 min read

RAPID RECAP:

  • NFM developed the original grid vest system from 2014 to 2016 for modularity and functionality in humid conditions.
  • It evolved into the THOR Modular Combat Vest System™ (MCVS) with better ergonomics and integration.
  • NFM’s ongoing product development aims to deliver the best military gear based on user feedback.

The original grid vest system

In the years from 2014 to 2016, NFM developed the “grid vest system” in dialogue with a customer.

Due to the customer’s humid location and weather conditions, their need for modularity came from a situation where not all end-users would have been issued ballistic protective plates. That meant that the vest had to be modular, allowing it to uphold its functionality as a load-bearing vest with the possibility to add protection.

The grid vest design has been continually enhanced in-house based on vital feedback from our customers, resulting in the THOR Modular Combat Vest System™ (MCVS).

“In parallel with R&D, our continual dialogue with our partners and the end-costumers is essential in pushing the boundaries of design and innovation, states Tor Inge Thun”

The improvements to this new system design include better ergonomics, increased modularity, enhanced functionality and integration between the elements in the system.

These elements can all be used as stand-alone items based on the user’s requirements at any time.

Product Development
