NFM’s commitment: Supporting Ukraine with protective gear and employment opportunities

Until February 2022, NFM had production facilities in Lviv, the largest city in Western Ukraine, with 150 direct employees and 500 indirect employees. When the Russians crossed the boarders of Ukraine, NFM Group was forced to evacuate both employees and operations.

All our Ukrainian employees was offered work and housing at NFM Group’s production facilities in Poland.

Among several actors within the Norwegian business community, NFM was one of the speakers at the roundtable meeting with the president. Our CEO, Walter Øverland, emphasized NFM’s strong dedication to supporting Ukraine.

“Today, we have close to 100 Ukrainian refugees working in our production facilities in Poland and Bulgaria, primarily women. We both hope and are ready to re-establish ourselves in Ukraine the moment the situation has stabilized.”

Since the start of the war, NFM has produced and delivered over 100,000 bulletproof vests to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Several of our Ukrainian employees were actively involved in the production and packaging of vests destined for their home country. For many of them, it was a source of pride and a meaningful opportunity to support to those on the front lines.

“With this, we hope that we have been a small contributor in the fight against Russia, and we aim to continue the supplying of protective equipment for Ukrainian soldiers in the future as well.”
