Investing in the future: Increased solar power harvest with 800%

RAPID RECAP:

  • NFM Group increased its solar energy capacity by 800.4% from 2021 to 2023, expanding from a 50-kW to a 500-kW system.
  • The new solar installation generates 449.82 kW of clean energy, demonstrating NFM’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
  • The People and Sustainability department ensures NFM aligns with ESG regulations and sustainable business practices.

The essence of photovoltaic technology lies in its ability to harness solar energy, converting it into clean and renewable electricity. The solar farm was initiated in 2021 by Team Manager Enterprise Asset Management, Marcin Załęski, who is responsible for Factory Maintenance, Building Management, and media supplies.

“The advantages of the photovoltaic farm extend beyond environmental benefits. Adopting this technology ensures a more stable and cost-effective energy future for NFMs. With advancements in solar technology, the efficiency and affordability of solar systems continue to improve, making them a viable and forward-thinking investment,” says Załęski.

Solar Farm Success Story

Back in 2021, we initiated our sustainable energy journey with the first installation of a 50-kW solar panel system. This system had 111 panels, each with a capacity of 450W, generating a total of 49.95 kW. This initial step not only marked a milestone in our sustainability efforts but also set the stage for a more ambitious project. The success and positive impact of this installation were clear, leading us to further our investment in clean energy.

In 2023, we took a significant leap forward by adding an additional 450 kW solar panel installation to our facilities. This new system, consisting of 833 panels each with a power of 540W, generates a staggering 449.82 kW of clean energy. This expansion is not just a testament to our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint but also aligns with our strategic goals of leading the way in our industry through innovation and sustainable practices.

We are proud to say that the power generation capacity from NFM Group’s solar installations increased by approximately 800.4% from 2021 to 2023. In comparison, the average household electricity consumption in Europe is roughly 10 kWh per day. The total power generated by NFM Group’s solar panels could theoretically power about 50 households each day.

NFM’s Commitment to Sustainable Business Practices

As a growing international company, NFM has a responsibility to ensure our business sustainability, both for ethical an environmental reason. With our newly established People and Sustainability department, we strive to work in a responsible and sustainable way, towards fulfilling our obligation to the ESG regulations.

“The People and Sustainability department is not just a strategic move; it reflects our values and vision for the future. We lead in corporate responsibility, meeting changing ESG standards, and showing our dedication to environmental and social governance,” states Viktoria Johannesen, People & Sustainability Director.
